Sponsorships
VASU voraciously supports all Women across the Globe that strive everyday for excellence and absolute equality – VASU was extremely fortunate to be the Official Platinum Sponsor of the Streetball FC Women’s Team that fiercely competed in the $1M USD Winner-take-all TST7V7 when the Women made their inaugural debut at this international tournament in North Carolina in June 2024.
In the inaugural tournament the Canadian based Streetball FC team roster boasted 2 Philippines Women’s National Team members that played integral roles on the squad – JACLYN SAWICKI and SARINA BOLDEN – VASU was honored to be able to support this entire team of incredible Women athletes, and were particularly proud to be able to get behind two of the finest Women’s players the Philippines has ever known – the wonderful country that we at the Worldwide HQ of Vasu are proud to call home.
GLOBAL YOUTH SPONSORSHIP INITIATIVES
VASU – PEG Youth Sponsorship Program
VASU is driven by a sincere desire to help youth across the Globe in achieving their goals and dreams, and being given every available opportunity needed to do so.
With this in mind, in 2022, VASU undertook the PEG Global Youth Sponsorship program, beginning what is to be a continuing sponsorship program supporting youth athletic programs around the World. To kick off this initiative, the VASU – PEG sponsored team of Under 14 age girls from Vancouver, Canada, took part in The World Youth Cup, in July 2022 in Gothenberg, Sweden. The outcome was the stuff of legends, with the girls winning the whole tournament. 67 teams began in their age bracket and at the end it all they were undefeated and held the trophy above their heads.
The VASU – PEG youth football sponsorship program was further proudly supported by Karina LeBlanc (Executive Vice President of Strategic Growth and Development at RAJ Sports – Portland Thorns WMLS and Portland WNBA, Former President and General Manager – Portland Thorns WMLS, Former Head of Women’s Football–CONCACAF, UNICEF Ambassador, FIFA Legend, Honorary Captain-Royal Canadian Navy, and 2x Olympian and medalist as the Canada National Team Goalkeeper)
The PEG sponsorship initiative then immediately continued forward with PEG sponsoring a youth boys team composed of 9 Canadian and 9 Brazilian boys to travel to and participate in a tournament in Brazil during August 2022. The boys were coached by a former Brazilian professional footballer (‘Sosa’), and as with the girls previously, the boys made the VASU – PEG sponsorship initiative immensely proud by championing the spirit of sportsmanship, sharing, support and humanness as they battled hard in the Brazilian tournament.
As we evolve into the future the VASU – PEG youth initiative will continue with plans for its ongoing target sponsorship undertakings in emerging markets around the World with the hopes of giving the youth of tomorrow opportunities they so richly deserve.
